[Polish Crypto Exchange Zondacrypto Entangled in Political Turmoil, CEO Reveals $330 Million BTC Wallet Inaccessible Due to Former Executive's Disappearance]
According to POLITICO, Polish crypto exchange Zondacrypto is embroiled in a controversy involving regulatory issues, political donations, and allegations of ties to Russian funds. The exchange's CEO, Przemysław Kral, previously disclosed that the company owns a wallet containing approximately 4,500 BTC, valued at around $330 million. However, the assets in the wallet are currently inaccessible because the former executive, Sylwester Suszek, did not transfer the private keys during the 2021 handover and has been missing for several years.
According to a prior report by AP, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused Zondacrypto of being backed by "Russian funds" and of financially supporting politicians associated with Poland's former nationalist conservative government, as well as the CPAC event scheduled to be held in Poland in 2025.
