House plans to take up its first 2027 spending bill for military construction-VA of the year when it returns for votes next week. The bill, which provides $157 billion in discretionary funding, was unanimously approved 58-0 last month by the House Appropriations Cmte that added additional funding to implement the toxic exposure PACT Act law in 2028. Amendments to the bill are due to the Rules Cmte for possible floor consideration by Thursday.(Craig Caplan)
