[Strait of Hormuz Blocked, Iraq Transports Oil via Syria] Odaily Planet Daily News – On the 2nd, Iraq's border port management department reported that 70 oil tankers loaded with crude oil entered Syria from Iraq through the Rabia border crossing. This marks the reopening of this land-based oil transport route by Iraq after 13 years. The Rabia crossing is located in Iraq's northwestern Nineveh province and had been closed for a long time following the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011. It was just reopened this April. The crossing is not far from the oil fields in Mosul and Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
