The House just passed a 45-day clean extension of FISA 702 with no warrant requirements and no reforms.
For years Republican and Democrats claimed we needed to reform FISA. Both parties are full of shit.
Worse yet, the Senate has declared a ban on a consumer-facing CBDC dead on arrival.
I’ll fight both.
Let me be clear where I stand:
On FISA 702: If the government wants to surveil an American citizen, it needs a warrant. Full stop. That’s not a radical position. It’s called the 4th Amendment.
On a CBDC: A government-controlled digital currency is a surveillance tool. It is a mechanism of financial control that has no place in a free society.
It’s time to vote for a U.S. Senator who means what he says.(John E Deaton)
