Most of the US strategic petroleum reserve also sits in giant underground caverns not literal barrels. The outflow from it has led to massive pressure in these caverns. If that pressure isn’t rebalance, those caverns can basically implode and ruin the reserves.(Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth))
