[Chicago Rapper Lil Zay Osama Federally Indicted for Cryptocurrency Home Invasion Robbery]
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago rapper Lil Zay Osama (real name Isaiah Dukes) has been federally indicted along with five others for allegedly participating in a cryptocurrency-related home invasion robbery. They face charges of robbery and kidnapping.
On March 8, three suspects disguised as food delivery workers forced their way into a residence in Winnetka, a northern suburb of Chicago, while armed. They held the victims for approximately an hour, demanding access to a safe, computers, and cryptocurrency accounts. The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Winnetka Police Department were involved in the investigation.
Osama was charged on April 16, and his attorney stated that Osama neither participated in nor planned the robbery. All seven defendants have pleaded not guilty and have been ordered to remain in custody. Osama previously served a 14-month prison sentence in 2024 for possession of a machine gun.
