235-191: House passed legislation to extend FISA surveillance authority by 3 years, ahead of tomorrow night's midnight deadline. A ban on the Federal Reserve issuing central bank digital currency (CBDC) passed by the House in July was added to the FISA bill under a rule approved earlier today. The 3-year FISA 702 extension bill with the CBDC provision included now heads to the Senate. Majority Leader Thune has said the bill is "dead on arrival" if the CBDC provision is included.(Craig Caplan)
