CORRECTION: It’s NOT “@massauditor’s demand for an audit of the state legislature” it’s the VOTERS OF MA who demanded the audit by MAKING IT THE LAW. Almost 3 out of 4 voters (72%) voted for the state auditor to audit the legislature. How often do voters agree on a single issue at that level of agreement? Not too often. And where’s @SenMarkey? He’s silent - protecting the status quo. Almost one-third of the state budget comes from federal funds. As a U.S. Senator, how can one fight for those funds (our federal tax dollars) to come back to MA for infrastructure, housing, nuclear energy, or healthcare, if the state refuses to comply with the audit to ensure transparency?(John E Deaton)
