I want to clarify the process for the appointment of the CEO of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA). The position was internationally advertised and attracted several applicants from Jamaica and abroad. A structured selection process was conducted by an independent panel, which included senior officials such as the Cabinet Secretary, the head of the Port Authority of Jamaica, Professor Gordon Shirley, who also chairs the Police Services Commission, and the head of the Transformation Implementation Unit. I was not involved in reviewing applications or shortlisting candidates. The process was managed at arm’s length to ensure fairness and transparency in the appointment.(Andrew Holness)
