I had a meeting with the team of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. We discussed in detail the results of the exchanges that have already taken place this year, as well as preparations for upcoming exchanges. We hope that in the near future we will be able to welcome home Ukrainians who are currently in captivity in Russia and in temporarily occupied territories. The Coordination Headquarters has prepared the necessary documents and lists for exchanges, and is in constant communication with the Russian side specifically regarding these humanitarian issues. We remember all our people who remain in Russian captivity – both military personnel and civilians. Particular attention is given to those who were taken captive even before the start of the full-scale invasion.
We discussed requests from international organizations and cooperation with partners to secure the release of people. It is important to do everything possible to ensure progress across all categories of prisoners: journalists, city mayors and community leaders, energy workers, our warriors – Azov fighters, marines, paratroopers, and all others for whom the exchange process is especially difficult. Our goal is to bring all our people home from captivity. We are cross-checking all information, verifying every name. It is not uncommon that a person is listed as missing, but we find them in camps in Russia and bring them back to Ukraine. This work will continue. We will also engage with some partner country leaders to take additional steps. I thank the entire Coordination Headquarters team and every partner who is helping!(Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський)
