[Goldman Sachs Reportedly Bans Hong Kong Employees from Using Anthropic's Claude Model]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on April 29, citing sources from the Financial Times, Goldman Sachs has prohibited its bankers in Hong Kong from using Anthropic's artificial intelligence (AI) model, Claude. Employees in Goldman Sachs' Hong Kong office have been unable to access the model through the internal AI platform for several weeks.
An Anthropic spokesperson stated that its Claude model has never received official 'support' in Hong Kong but declined to comment further. It is reported that after discussions with Anthropic, Goldman Sachs reached the conclusion—based on a strict interpretation of their contract—that its Hong Kong employees are not permitted to use any of Anthropic's products. However, this does not apply to contracts with other AI providers, such as OpenAI.
