[Robinhood Drops 9.2% in After-Hours Trading, Q1 Earnings Miss Expectations, Cryptocurrency Revenue Down 47% YoY]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on April 29, online brokerage Robinhood (HOOD.US) saw its after-hours trading price drop 9.2% to $74.54. On the news front, Robinhood announced first-quarter revenue of $1.07 billion, a 15% year-over-year increase, with diluted earnings per share of $0.38, up 3% year-over-year, both falling short of market expectations. Due to the sluggish cryptocurrency market, transaction-based revenue reached $623 million, up 6% year-over-year but down 20% quarter-over-quarter. Cryptocurrency revenue came in at $134 million, a 47% year-over-year decline. Other transaction revenue, primarily composed of event contract revenue, surged 320% year-over-year to $147 million.
