Two Departments: Select Cities with Strong AI Industry Foundations and Rich Data Resources as Key Cities for the "Digital-Analog Resonance" Initiative

Golden Finance reports that on April 28, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Comprehensive Department of the National Data Bureau jointly issued a notice regarding the implementation of the 2026 "Digital-Analog Resonance" initiative. Cities (including districts and counties under municipalities directly under the central government) with strong artificial intelligence industry foundations and rich data resources will be selected as key cities for the implementation of the initiative. Among them, provincial governments with National Data Element Comprehensive Pilot Zones, subordinate National AI Innovation Application Pilot Zones, or manufacturing-focused National AI Application Testing Bases may select up to three cities in total (priority given to pilot zone cities and cities hosting testing bases). Other provincial governments may select up to two cities in total. Key cities should identify several priority industries within the scope of key industries selected by their respective provincial regions, leveraging local characteristics and advantages to determine work strategies and develop implementation plans to advance the tasks outlined above.
