[Robinhood Users Targeted by Phishing Attack, Official Reminder to Avoid Clicking Suspicious Links]
According to a report by Cointelegraph, attackers exploited Gmail's feature of ignoring periods in email usernames and a vulnerability in Robinhood's account creation process to forge official emails and send phishing links to users. Cybersecurity researcher Alex Eckelberry stated that the email passed SPF, DKIM, and DMARC verification, making it appear to originate from an official address. Robinhood clarified that its systems and customer accounts were not breached, and users' funds and information remain unaffected. The company advised users to delete the related emails and avoid clicking on any links.
