According to Foresight News, citing a report from The Wall Street Journal, sources revealed that Meta is preparing to withdraw from the acquisition of Manus. If Meta proceeds with withdrawing from the deal, several former Asian investors of Manus, including Tencent, Sequoia China, and ZhenFund, plan to cooperate. Additionally, the two companies have been required to terminate the transaction and fully restore Manus's assets in China to their original state, including retracting any previously transferred data or technology from Meta.
Earlier, Foresight News reported that, according to the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Office of the Foreign Investment Security Review Mechanism (National Development and Reform Commission) has made a decision to prohibit foreign investment in the Manus acquisition project in accordance with laws and regulations, requiring the parties involved to revoke the acquisition transaction.
