[Meta May Cancel $2.5 Billion Acquisition of AI Startup Manus]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on April 28, The Wall Street Journal reported that Meta is preparing to cancel its acquisition of AI startup Manus after China banned the deal on April 27 citing national security concerns. Manus is a Singapore-based startup with ties to China, specializing in the development of AI agents. Meta had completed the $2.5 billion acquisition last December and had quickly integrated the related technology into its own systems. If the deal is ultimately canceled, both parties will need to dismantle the integrated technology and systems.
