[Saipan Woman Sentenced to 71 Months for Bitcoin Scam Targeting Elderly Victims] Reported by Golden Finance, on April 28, a U.S. federal court sentenced a Saipan woman to 71 months in prison for her involvement in a Bitcoin-related scam targeting multiple elderly victims. According to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Justice on Monday, Sze Man Yu Inos (also known as 'Yuki') was convicted of defrauding multiple victims through telecommunications fraud. Prosecutors stated that the 30-year-old scammer primarily targeted elderly women in Saipan and Guam between November 2020 and January 2022, falsely claiming to come from a wealthy Chinese family and boasting of her success in Bitcoin investments. After establishing emotional connections with the victims—often telling them, 'You are like my mother'—Yuki exploited their trust to induce them into making Bitcoin investments under false pretenses. According to the statement, she later expanded this scam to other victims in Washington State and California.
