Iran attempts to decouple the Hormuz Strait from nuclear negotiations
According to U.S. media Axios, Iran has submitted a proposal to the U.S., suggesting reopening the Hormuz Strait and ending the war, but with the condition that discussions on its nuclear program be postponed to a later time.
Basically, it’s about ending the war first, then addressing control over the Hormuz Strait, and finally discussing Iran’s nuclear program.
The U.S. has yet to make any statement on this. As a result, WTI prices briefly surged above $97 and are now fluctuating around $96.
