[Institution: Bank of England May Keep Rates Unchanged in 2026, but Risks of Rate Hikes Remain]
Jin10 News, April 27 – Analysts Peid Bake-Fries and Konstantin Veit from Pacific Investment Management Company stated in a report that due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the high uncertainty surrounding the impact of the conflict, the Bank of England is expected to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75% in 2026. They noted that the weak UK labor market should help limit the second-round inflationary pressures caused by high energy prices. 'Policy is already restrictive, and the Bank of England may have the ability to hold steady.' However, they also mentioned that if energy prices rise further, the Bank of England might raise rates to prevent a significant surge in inflation.
Data from the London Stock Exchange shows that the market estimates an 84% probability that the Bank of England will keep rates unchanged in Thursday's rate decision.
