Why do I feel like GPT-5.5 is a bit silly? After using GPT-5.5, it’s already made several basic mistakes. This morning, I asked it to calculate PnL (profit and loss) at the start of a conversation. It realized that on-chain PnL can’t just be calculated using inflow USDC - outflow USDC as PnL. But then, after two more conversations, it still used this method to calculate. In the afternoon, I asked it to calculate 60 days of PnL. It clearly knew that the initial profit needed to be excluded to get the correct 60-day PnL, but when it did the calculation itself, it didn’t handle it properly. GPT-5.5 doesn’t feel as good as I imagined. Uh-oh, the seed of doubt has already been planted in my heart, and now it’s taking root and growing.
