Lots of people are mixing up ERC-404 with Uniswap v4 hooks, but actually, they’re two completely different concepts. ERC-404 is about asset design. It’s basically packaging NFTs into tokens. Holding a token = corresponding NFT. Buy a token → NFT appears. Sell a token → NFT disappears. Essentially: turning assets into divisible ones. Uniswap v4 hooks, on the other hand, are about behavior design. It’s the logic layer embedded in transactions. What you do → how the system responds to you. If the hook + uPeg model evolves, theoretically in the future it could achieve: mc threshold met → all NFTs evolve. Diamond hands → your NFT upgrades. Whales enter → rare visuals triggered (Whale Signal). Recently, there are signs of a slight recovery in mainnet NFTs. Plus, the space hasn’t seen much innovation for a long time.
