The merchant vessel subsequently complied with U.S. military instructions and returned to Iran under the escort of the U.S. warship. The statement also mentioned that the U.S. military will continue to impose a full blockade on vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports. Since the blockade began, 37 vessels have been forced to reroute. U.S. President Trump stated on April 13 that, as of 10:00 AM Eastern Time, the U.S. has implemented a blockade on all vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports.
