[Succinct, backed by Paradigm, launches iPhone camera app ZCAM to combat AI forgery using cryptography] According to The Block, Succinct Labs, backed by Paradigm, has launched an iPhone camera app called ZCAM. The app uses cryptographic technology to generate tamper-proof fingerprint records for photos and videos, linking the content to the capturing device to help distinguish authentic media from AI-generated forgeries. Users can independently verify whether the media originates from a genuine device and remains free from digital tampering. Succinct cited research from Deloitte's Financial Services Center, which predicts that generative AI could increase U.S. fraud losses from $12.3 billion in 2023 to $40 billion by 2027. Succinct previously completed a $55 million funding round led by Paradigm in 2024, and its SP1 zero-knowledge virtual machine has already secured over $4 billion in digital assets.
