[SoftBank Seeks $10 Billion Margin Loan Secured by OpenAI Shares]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on April 23, foreign media sources revealed that SoftBank Group is seeking a $10 billion loan using its OpenAI shares as collateral. This move marks the latest effort by the Japanese company to increase debt in order to advance its investments in artificial intelligence. Sources indicated that the two-year margin loan includes an option allowing SoftBank to extend the borrowing term by an additional year. SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son aims to position himself as a key figure in the global AI boom, with the company consistently increasing its debt to make large-scale investments in OpenAI. SoftBank has previously invested over $30 billion in the U.S. company and recently committed an additional $30 billion in investments. (Jin10)
