[SpaceX Warns Investors That Orbital AI Data Centers May Not Achieve Commercialization]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that SpaceX stated in its IPO filing that orbital AI computing, as well as efforts toward the industrialization of the Moon and Mars, are still in their early stages, involving significant technical complexities and may not achieve commercialization. Elon Musk has previously described space-based AI computing as an obvious choice, suggesting that orbit could become the lowest-cost location for AI storage within two to three years. The filing warns that orbital AI data centers operate in harsh and unpredictable space environments, where systems may experience failures. Additionally, delays in the development of Starship could also limit the company's growth strategy. SpaceX currently targets a valuation of approximately $1.75 trillion and plans to raise $75 billion in funding in the coming months.
