[Report: AI Drives Surge in Bug Bounty Submissions, but 'Spam Reports' Are Also Increasing]
According to Cointelegraph, the widespread use of AI has led to crypto protocols receiving a large number of low-quality or even fake bug bounty submissions. The Co-CEO of Cosmos Labs stated that submissions to its bug bounty program have increased by 900% year-over-year, reaching 20 to 50 reports per day, with both valid and invalid reports rising significantly. The creator of the open-source tool curl has announced the termination of its bug bounty program due to receiving a large number of 'AI-generated spam bug reports.' Komodo Platform's CTO pointed out that AI has lowered the cost of generating reports, resulting in an influx of low-quality submissions. Meanwhile, HackerOne's report shows that the number of valid bug submissions is projected to reach 85,000 by 2025, a 7% year-over-year increase, indicating that truly valuable bug reports are still on the rise.
