[ANZ Bank: Bank of Japan Likely to Continue Tightening Policy but Will Not Adjust Interest Rates] Jin10 Data, April 22 – ANZ Bank's research report indicates that the Bank of Japan is likely to maintain its inclination toward tightening monetary policy but will keep interest rates unchanged during the April 27–28 meeting. Analyst Brian Martin stated: 'Before the current Middle East conflict, we believed there was a high likelihood of a rate hike this month, but recent statements from senior central bank officials have emphasized the downside risks to economic growth posed by developments in the Middle East. This reflects the Bank of Japan's current cautious stance.' ANZ Bank now believes that the likelihood of a rate hike in June is higher, especially if the conflict situation eases in the coming weeks, with the expected hike being 25 basis points.
