[Uzbekistan Establishes Besqala Mining Valley, Tax-Free Until 2035 to Promote Green Cryptocurrency Mining]
Odaily Planet Daily News: Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree to establish the 'Besqala Mining Valley' special zone for cryptocurrency mining, aiming to develop green energy mining and attract international investment. Miners can sell crypto assets on local and overseas exchanges, with proceeds directly deposited into domestic bank accounts. In terms of policy, participants in the mining zone are exempt from income tax until 2035 and only need to pay a management fee of 1% of their revenue. Electricity prices are set at 1,800 soms per kilowatt-hour, with special incentives for projects investing over $100 million. Regarding eligibility, only locally registered companies can apply, and they must have power facilities and pass approval processes. Responsible personnel must not have a record of economic crimes.
