[Sources Say Iran Will Not Participate in U.S.-Iran Talks on the 22nd]
According to Golden Finance, on April 22, the Iranian negotiation team has informed the U.S. through a Pakistani intermediary that, for various reasons, they will not travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, on the 22nd and currently have no intention of participating in the talks. Relevant sources pointed out that after Pakistan intervened to mediate and requested the U.S. to cease fire, Iran accepted the ceasefire agreement and agreed to conduct follow-up negotiations to end the war based on a ten-point framework it proposed, which had been accepted by the U.S. Pakistan also explicitly announced that the U.S. had accepted this framework. However, in the following days, the U.S. began to break its promises. Additionally, during the first round of talks held in Islamabad, the U.S. made numerous excessive demands that essentially violated the initial framework, causing the round of negotiations to reach an impasse. Sources further stated that in exchanges over the past few days, the U.S. has insisted on its excessive demands, which infringe upon the absolute rights of the Iranian people, and no substantive progress has been made in the communication between the two sides. As a result, Iran ultimately announced today that under such circumstances, participating in the talks would be a waste of time, as the U.S. is preventing the achievement of any substantive agreement.
