The UK is about to pass the "UK Tobacco and Vapes act" which bans tobacco sales to anyone born after January 1, 2009.
That means nobody born after 2009 can buy:
Cigarettes, Hand-rolled tobacco, Cigars/cigarillos, Pipe tobacco, Shisha, Chewing tobacco, Snuff, Papers, or Other herbal smoking products
Vapes didn't get a complete ban, but they banned vending machine sales, closed all under 18 loopholes, banned buying by proxy for children, banned single use/disposable vapes, sample vapes given out, etc.
They've also banned all advertising for vapes AND nicotine products, and now have the power to ban flavored vapes, and cool looking packaging that "could appeal to children."
They've basically created a generational smoking/cig/nicotine ban while also limiting vapes (probably will be banned later down the road)
The bill already passed Parliament and just needs to be signed in to law via Royal Ascent (formal monarch approval) to make it "official."
End of an era. The UK "protecting" its citizens once again! (sarcasm)
