Hong Kong woman mistakenly believes in AI quantitative trading scam, losing HKD 7.7 million in cryptocurrency
On April 21st, according to a report from Hong Kong 01, a woman met a scammer who claimed to be an "investment expert" through Telegram. The scammer used "quantitative trading" and "AI algorithms" as gimmicks, claiming to be able to earn high returns. The woman believed it to be true and transferred approximately HKD 7.7 million in USDT and ETH from her electronic wallet to the scammer's designated wallet 17 times. When they try to withdraw, the other party delays and refuses with various excuses, and the victim realizes they have been deceived. The police remind that "high return+low risk+low threshold" is a 100% fraud "impossible triangle", and urge citizens to verify the authenticity of the platform before investing.
