Nansen launches pay per use model, settled in USDC on the Base or Solana chain BlockBeats News: On April 21st, blockchain analytics company Nansen announced a comprehensive upgrade to its on chain data API, introducing a "pay per use" model based on the x402 protocol and PayAI infrastructure. Users can now instantly query wallet profiles, token flows, and smart money signals through USDC small payments, without being bound by monthly subscriptions, mandatory approvals, or long-term contracts. Nansen pointed out that the traditional subscription model is extremely unfriendly to AI agents and developers - AI agents often need to intermittently query and then become idle, developers have uncertain future needs during prototype testing, and researchers are locked in non essential fixed fees. The new solution is built around the open-source payment standard x402: when a request is made to access a payment endpoint, the server returns a 402 Payment Required status code indicating the amount, currency, and chain information. The client completes the USDC transaction on the chain and attaches the payment voucher to obtain the data. The entire "request invoice payment delivery" process is fully programmable, and AI agents can independently complete payments. The API opened by Nansen this time is priced in two tiers, both settled in USDC on the Base or Solana chain: the base tier charges 0.01 USD per call and can obtain core data such as token filtering, wallet balance and history, DEX transactions, profit and loss summaries, etc; Advanced level charges $0.05 per call, unlocking proprietary signals such as smart money net flow, position distribution, profit and loss rankings, etc. In practical application scenarios, a smart money warning system has a single operating cost of about 0.15 US dollars, wallet portrait analysis costs about 0.07 US dollars, and token research costs about 0.07 US dollars.
