Vitalik: Simply copying Ethereum's L2 is meaningless Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin @VitalikButerin stated during his speech at the 4th Hong Kong Web3 Festival on April 20 that merely copying Ethereum and making it more centralized as an L2 is pointless. A truly meaningful L2 should examine application needs and build off-chain components required beyond Ethereum L1. Additionally, Vitalik mentioned that future scaling remains a key focus: 1. Data scaling, which requires further advancement of the PeerDAS technology introduced in a previous hard fork. 2.
