[Hong Kong Police Unveil 'AI Quantitative Sure-Win' Cryptocurrency Scam, Victim Loses HK$7.7 Million] Odaily Planet Daily News: Hong Kong police have disclosed a cryptocurrency scam that used 'AI quantitative trading' as a gimmick to lure investments. A woman was defrauded of approximately HK$7.7 million. The scammer posed as an 'investment expert' and approached the victim via Telegram, claiming to achieve stable high returns through 'quantitative trading' and 'AI algorithms.' The victim transferred a total of approximately HK$7.7 million worth of USDT and ETH from her digital wallet to designated addresses in 17 transactions. She realized she had been scammed only when her withdrawal attempts were rejected. Hong Kong police warn that while cryptocurrencies have high return potential, they also come with high volatility and risk. Claims of 'AI trading' and 'quantitative sure-win' are often bait for scams. The public should be wary of the 'impossible triangle' trap of high returns, low risk, and low barriers. (HK01)
