[Andre Cronje: Approximately $200M in rsETH stolen, possibly due to private key leak or configuration error; ETH withdrawn from Aave to ensure liquidity] BlockBeats News, April 19: Sonic Labs co-founder and Flying Tulip founder Andre Cronje stated, 'We are still actively investigating the L0/rsETH incident. Preliminary reports indicate that a private key leak or configuration error may have led to the theft of approximately $200 million in rsETH. Subsequently, these rsETH were deposited into Aave to borrow ETH (due to insufficient rsETH liquidity). Technically, this position is collateral-backed; even without collateral, Aave's tokens and safety module serve as the first line of defense against bad debt. Aave does not have a mechanism to subsidize user losses, so in extreme cases, this could escalate into a "bank run." However, considering that Aave currently holds approximately $7 billion in ETH, compared to the $100 million withdrawal size and the $17 million PUT exposure, the overall impact of this situation is limited. Nevertheless (the above is merely to explain our assessment), our primary goal has always been to ensure the liquidity of users' PUT. Therefore, we have withdrawn all ETH from Aave into our own wrapping contract, as Aave's available liquidity has fallen below our minimum threshold.'
