[Iranian Official: Priority Given to Ships Paying Hormuz Strait Passage Fees]
Golden Finance reported on April 19 that an Iranian senior official told CNN on Saturday that Iran will prioritize the passage of ships that pay the Hormuz Strait passage fees. The official stated: 'Given the limited number of ships allowed to pass, Iran has decided to prioritize those that can respond more quickly to the new regulations of the Hormuz Strait and pay the security service fees.' According to the official, the passage of ships that do not pay the fees will be 'delayed.' On Saturday, Iran reimposed restrictions on ships passing through the Hormuz Strait, citing repeated breaches of trust by the U.S. during ceasefire agreements between the two sides. The senior official described this prioritization measure as part of Iran's efforts to manage maritime traffic 'under the new order governing the strait.' (Jin10)
