Anthropic releases Claude Design, using dialogue to generate prototypes, slides, and landing pages
On April 18th, it was reported that Anthropic launched Claude Design under Anthropic Labs on April 17th, with the positioning of producing design drafts, interactive prototypes, slides, and marketing materials through conversations with Claude. The product is driven by Claude Opus 4.7 and is open to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers in the form of research preview. It will be pushed in batches on the same day and accessed through claude.ai/design. The Enterprise account is closed by default and needs to be enabled by the administrator in the organizational settings.
Users describe their requirements in natural language. After Claude provides the initial version, details can be modified through dialogue, embedded comments, direct editing, and Claude's custom adjustment slider generated in real-time. During the initial setup phase, Claude will read the team's code repository and design files to establish a dedicated design system. Afterwards, each project will automatically use the team's color scheme, fonts, and components. The team can maintain multiple design systems and iterate at any time. Input supports text prompts, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX documents and images, and can also use web capture tools to directly capture UI elements from the target website, making the prototype look closer to the real product. The output can be shared as an internal link within the organization, or exported as PDF, PPTX, standalone HTML, and one click push to Canva.
Claude Design is directly integrated with Claude Code. After the final design is finalized, it will be packaged into a handshake bundle and handed over to Claude Code for implementation with just one instruction. For designers, this solves the problem of trial and error cycles being squeezed by project time for a long time; For product managers, founders, and marketing positions, this is a new link that bypasses professional design barriers, directly produces usable visual materials, and connects engineering delivery.
Among the early users listed by the official, learning platform Brilliant claimed that complex interactive pages that previously required more than 20 rounds of prompts to restore in other tools could be completed in just 2 rounds in Claude Design; Datadog represents the ability to complete the process from rough ideas to executable prototypes in one meeting; Canva is listed as one of the main export targets.
