[First Oil Tanker Passes Through the Strait of Hormuz Since U.S. Blockade] According to a report by Jinse Finance, data released on April 17 by the vessel tracking website Vesselfinder shows that an oil tanker flying the Pakistani flag entered the Persian Gulf, becoming the first oil tanker carrying crude oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz since the U.S. blockade was implemented on April 13. Based on the published data, the oil tanker, named "Salamar," sailed south of Iran's Larak Island late at night on April 16 local time, entering the Gulf of Oman. The vessel is carrying approximately 450,000 barrels of crude oil, which was loaded on Das Island in the UAE. The ship's destination is listed as Karachi, Pakistan.
