UBS: Investors will shift their focus from Middle Eastern issues to economic and profit fundamentals, while US stocks remain attractive
Odaily Planet Daily News: UBS research report on April 16th pointed out that based on the bank's benchmark scenario, the final diplomatic solution to the Middle East conflict will enable investors to once again focus on healthy economic and profit fundamentals. The bank stated that during the fermentation of the Middle East crisis, it has always believed that global and US stock markets remain attractive. The bank expects strong performance in the first quarter earnings season of the US stock market, highlighting the optimistic outlook for corporate profits. Earnings per share are expected to increase by 17% this quarter, the fastest growth rate since the fourth quarter of 2021. However, the bank also expects that the road to a long-term ceasefire in the Middle East will be bumpy, and even if shipping in the Strait of Hormuz resumes, it will take time for the global energy market to return to normal. Therefore, we have recently raised our Brent crude oil price forecast for the end of June from the previous $90 per barrel to $100 per barrel. Considering the prospects of the energy market, the stock markets most sensitive to high fuel costs, including the eurozone and India, have become more cautious and their ratings have been downgraded from "attractive" to "neutral".
