[Survey: Inflation Soars, ECB to Raise Rates in June] Jin10 Data, April 17 – According to a survey conducted by Bloomberg from April 9 to 15, due to rising inflation this year caused by the Iran war, the European Central Bank (ECB) will raise interest rates in June. However, this 0.25 percentage point hike is likely to be the only such move, as the conflict is not expected to cause long-term price shocks. The survey indicates that the eurozone's inflation rate is expected to rise to 2.8% this year—higher than the previous forecast of 2%. Subsequently, it is expected to fall back to 2.1% by 2026 and to 2% by 2027, aligning with the ECB's target. According to informed sources, ECB officials currently lean toward keeping rates unchanged at their next meeting at the end of April. Some, including the president of the German Bundesbank, believe that the possibility of action at that time cannot be ruled out.
