[Ethereum NFT Marketplace Foundation Permanently Closes Due to Failed Sale Transaction]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on April 17, as reported by The Defiant, the NFT marketplace Foundation has permanently closed following a failed transaction to sell the platform to digital art display company BlackDove. The platform's infrastructure has been taken offline, and there are no plans for it to resume operations. Foundation founder Kayvon Tehranian stated that the company had originally hoped to sustain platform operations through the sale, but the transaction could not be completed, and the team saw no need to continue seeking buyers. Foundation had previously facilitated approximately $230 million in primary sales. The report noted that after completing a comprehensive due diligence process during the operational handover, BlackDove decided to pivot to building its own proprietary marketplace. Foundation also announced that it will continue to provide one year of fixed services for media and metadata hosted on IPFS, and users are required to cancel their listings and retrieve their NFT assets themselves.
