[Trump: Believes Lebanon and Israel Will Reach an Agreement, Talks Expected in the Next One to Two Weeks]
According to Golden Finance, on April 17, U.S. President Trump stated that the leaders of Israel and Lebanon might visit the White House in the coming weeks to discuss advancing a peace agreement. He previously announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire and invited both parties to the White House for the first substantive talks since 1983.
Trump said: 'The progress regarding Lebanon is very exciting. I believe we will reach an agreement. They will hold talks, the first in 44 years, and Lebanon will meet with Israel, most likely at the White House.' He added that the talks are expected to take place 'in the next one to two weeks.'
Trump also mentioned that Lebanon would address the Hezbollah issue. He said: 'All parties have agreed; this is a good arrangement for about a week. We won’t see a large number of bombs being dropped. We will see if peace can be achieved between Lebanon and Israel.'
