The bill to limit Trump's war powers has been rejected by the US House of Representatives According to BlockBeats, on April 17th, the US House of Representatives narrowly rejected a bill initiated by the Democratic Party with a vote of 214 in favor and 213 against on April 16th local time. The bill requires President Trump to end military action against Iran and obtain congressional authorization before taking further military action against Iran. The bill had been rejected in the Senate the day before. The Democratic Party has stated that they will continue to propose similar bills until the end of the Iran conflict or Congress authorizes further military action. According to the US Constitution, only Congress can authorize the initiation of war. The 1973 bill passed by the US Congress stipulates that the President of the United States can only take limited military action without congressional authorization in a state of national emergency caused by an attack or imminent threat against the United States.
