[CoW Swap Releases Statement on Attack Incident: Domain Compromised via Social Engineering, Control of cow.fi Domain Restored]
Foresight News reports that CoW Swap has tweeted it has regained control of the cow.fi domain, which had been operating normally on cow.finance for some time and is now gradually transitioning back to the original domain. According to the official statement, on April 14, attackers deceived the DNS registrar with forged documents to gain control of the cow.fi domain. The attackers deployed a highly realistic phishing website and executed the attack in two stages: first, by using a wallet stealer to trick users into signing malicious transactions, and then by stealing seed phrases and passwords through fake wallet pop-ups. This attack targeted the domain registrar and did not involve CoW Swap's infrastructure or private key leaks. Affected users are advised to use tools like Revoke.cash to revoke all authorizations and consider transferring funds to a new wallet.
