Google is taking AI and storytelling to the next level! (Early bird application phase) Google DeepMind recently unveiled a research prototype of an interactive AI writing tool called Fabula. This tool is specifically designed for screenwriters and playwrights. Instead of directly generating complete text, it assists creators in building story structures through layered narrative planning. Fabula's development process involved collaboration with 42 professional writers. The tool is powered by the Gemini model and operates based on classic narrative theory. In terms of usage logic, it emphasizes a 'convergent iteration' mechanism, allowing users to review and quickly modify scenes and story beats. Research team member Piotr Mirowski has shared the beta testing form on professional networking platforms, with selection criteria focusing on users who have real needs for structured scripts.
