[U.S. Special Operations Allocates $50 Million to Introduce 'AI Co-Pilot' for Decision Optimization and Workload Reduction] Reported by Golden Finance, on April 15, according to U.S. media, the U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded a $50 million contract to aviation technology company Beacon AI as part of efforts to enable military pilots to access more artificial intelligence capabilities. This four-year contract will integrate Beacon AI's technology, which extracts large amounts of aircraft data—including weather, flight routes, and pilot operations—and processes it through AI-enabled software to assist pilots in making faster decisions during flights. Beacon AI CEO Matt Cox stated that by collaborating with special operations pilots who perform missions in extremely harsh environments, the technology aims to reduce workload and complexity, while improving safety by minimizing errors commonly made by pilots flying under overload, fatigue, or complex conditions.
