[WSJ: Over 20 Merchant Ships Passed Through the Strait of Hormuz in the Past 24 Hours] BlockBeats News, April 15, according to WSJ, two U.S. officials revealed that over 20 merchant ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours. Although commercial shipping volume remains only a fraction of pre-war levels, the flow of vessels in this critical waterway has shown improvement. One of the officials stated that the ships crossing the strait in the past 24 hours included cargo ships, container ships, and oil tankers entering and exiting the Persian Gulf. To reduce the risk of attacks by Iran, some vessels turned off their transponders during navigation. During the war, most ships avoided crossing this narrow waterway due to threats of Iranian attacks and mines. Currently, the U.S. is enforcing a blockade on Iranian ports. Ships not heading to Iranian ports are not subject to the blockade and are permitted free passage.
