Odaily Planet Daily News - On Monday local time, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office announced that Daniel Moreno-Gama, the suspect in last week's attack on OpenAI founder Sam Altman, has been charged with attempted murder. According to information released by the Department of Justice, the suspect also faces federal charges, including attempting to use explosives to damage property and illegal possession of an unregistered firearm.
According to an indictment filed Monday in San Francisco federal court, Daniel Moreno-Gama was arrested following Friday's attack. San Francisco Police Department officers found a document on him detailing his intentions. In the document, Daniel Moreno-Gama expressed his intent to kill Altman and warned that humanity is 'on the brink of extinction' because of artificial intelligence.
