[Iranian Ambassador to India: Indian Oil Tankers Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz Have Not Paid Transit Fees to Iran]
Odaily Planet Daily News – The Iranian Ambassador to India stated on Monday that Indian oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz have not paid any transit fees to Iran. Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump had vowed to block ships paying fees to Iran from passing through the strait.
'You can ask the Indian government whether we have collected any fees so far,' said Iranian Ambassador to India Mohammad Fathali during a press conference held at the Iranian Embassy. 'In these challenging times, we maintain good relations. We believe that Iran and India share common interests and a shared destiny,' he added.
Since the outbreak of the Iran war, Iran has effectively blocked this strategic waterway. India has repeatedly denied making any payments. India stated that 15 Indian-flagged vessels remain stranded in the Persian Gulf. (Jin10)
