[Hyperbridge Contract Vulnerability Causes $242,000 Loss] On April 13, BlockSec Phalcon disclosed that the HandlerV1 contract managed by Hyperbridge on the Ethereum network had an MMR proof replay vulnerability, resulting in a loss of approximately $242,000. The vulnerability stemmed from the lack of binding between the proof and the request, allowing attackers to replay historically valid proofs and forge requests to change admin permissions, minting DOT and ARGN tokens for profit. Related attack transactions include a loss of approximately $237,400 from DOT minting and about $3,800 from ARGN minting. The vulnerability was discovered and analyzed by PhalconSecurity.
